T O P I C R E V I E WAmi AnneQuestion for Discussion?By amiann | Published: April 17, 2012 I am fascinated by planets on the MC. By the nature of it, I assume they will square the ASC and DSC. They will oppose the IC. I understand that the planet conjunct the MC. will show it’s face to the world. One cannot hide it even if one want to such as in the case of Chiron(pain) or the Moon(one’s heart and one’s emotions). The planet conjunct the MC opposes the IC as these are always opposite but exact degrees. My theory is that the person could not express his planet in his childhood. This suppression prepared the planet for the sky rocketing of it to the MC where it would be forced to be expressed. This is my working theory, anyway. It hold true for the few cases of people who have reported to me. Now, I go on to the ASC/DSC axis. I assume the MC is square this, although it may not always be. I am open to your knowledge of this. I will assume the MC planet square the ASC and DSC until I hear otherwise. If this is the case, what can we surmise? Does the person with Moon conj the MC have a hard time showing his heart in his daily life(ASC). Does he have a hard time showing his heart in his relationships(DSC). I am using the Moon as an example. I could have used any planet as an example. The dynamics of each planet is different, of course. I am wondering about the squares and the oppositions of the MC planet to the other angles I am going to pose this question to all the places I study Astrology. Please, answer from your knowledge, personal experience and understanding.------------------Passion, Lust, Desire. However as for the planet being squared the ASC/DSC, mine isn't so i don't think i can be of use on that front. I'm glad you've posted about this again, coz i think this aspect has affected me a lot more than i have realised!Ami Anne quote:Originally posted by scorp91:Hey Ami I have saturn conjunct the MC and can definitely relate to your theory, and what you said in another thread about it creating a lack of discipline in the home as a child. I'm a Libra-Libra-Sag.. and you're a Libra-Gemini-Cancer! I REMEMBER your chart! But I was happy when I found out we have the same ASC, yes ma'am! vickymadnessI have Pluto Conjunct my MC and Venus conjunct my IC both squaring ASC I really don't know how to relate my experience to these aspects since I don't know what areas they affect exactly ...you can ask me and am willing to answer sandI am a Leo moon conj mc. I was never suppressed in childhood. My ic is my only empty angle though. There was not much in the sense that if I stayed home for the day and feigned sickness I would have not much to do. I think back then cartoons only played till 11am. Then u were stuck with Ricky lake or Donahue!! Also not a lot of video games compared to now lol!Ami Anne quote:Originally posted by sand:I am a Leo moon conj mc. I was never suppressed in childhood. Not that you know of ------------------Passion, Lust, Desire. Check out my journal http://www.mychristianpsychic.com/sandU caught me before my edit but I think since moon is needs it could mean the needs were not met at home. A Leo moon needs attention. I don't believe it is suppressed tho. Maybe others yes if it is a different planet and sign. I dunno i can't speak for others. Like u mean someone that can't express themselves in childhood? Childhood is kinda a long period lol. or do you mean suppressed emotions? coz i could vibe with that since h10 moon gives tinges of a cappy moon but to say it is not obvious in childhood is a no for me. i sat front and center always lol!Btw r u saying it will come out in adulthood? Maybe check progressions. My mc is in the last degree of cancer. It turned Leo when I was just a few months old I believe. Same with my ic. It went into aqua at the same time.Nope I am pretty sure. I have pics of me lording it over my peeps! Maybe it is abit diff for you since you are cancer moon, cancer mc. It really is the opposite sign of ur ic. But I can't Rly wrap my brain around that coz u wud have ruler of the mc on mc, which isn't so bad. Wat is wif dat licking smiley lol!! sweet-scorpionBeautifully said Ami! Per usual. As we've talked about my Moon-Chiron aspect, I just feel this entirely rings true for me. Even though the conjunction is not extremely close I definitely feel my Moon con. Chiron conjuncts my Midheaven. I know this because both square my ASC. I feel like my true feelings especially about the pain my mother caused me were denied expression in childhood. Or maybe since this is in the 9th house my greater pains were repressed by Chiron's presence until later life. Either seem possible for me... maybe both. I feel that these placements cause me issues in every day life, but at the same time they will help me in my goal of becoming famous and respected in my field. Why? Because my field, directing, acting, writing and the general arts, deals with intense emotional expression, and the ways I express myself include a great deal of released emotional pain, suffering, and reaching out to others who have suffered... I totally agree MC-conjunct planets were denied the use in lower life, but can escalate you to greater heights. I feel this could be the case for someone else with their planet actually IN the 10th house conjunct the MC as well, quite obviously. For example: my favorite musician Kurt Cobain had his Cancer Moon in the 10th house I'd think rather close to the MC and Cobain was bullied for his sensitive nature in typical life, in high school by the 'jocks' and all, and his mom was homophobic and many accused him of being gay for his sensitivities... yet Kurt's very sensitive, profound and Cancerian nature won him millions of fans and many females on a wide scale grew to absolutely adore this man, typical for a Cancer Moon raised to prominence in the cart. It is a very lonely case despite this though. It appears all we want with a 10th house planet or a 9th house planet conjunct the MC is to have that planet or those planets acknowledged, respected and understood in lower life, especially by the family... but most often they are not. It is very sad to me. Has anyone else ever felt this way with such a placement? I know you Ami have this Moon-MC aspect I believe, so I'm sure you can contribute to this with your own personal experience as well. ------------------"Perfect love casts out fear."-Anthony de Mellocarl quote:Originally posted by scorp91:Hey Ami I have saturn conjunct the MC and can definitely relate to your theory, and what you said in another thread about it creating a lack of discipline in the home as a child. !Me too, I think.I know whenever my mom tried to punish me it never would stick, or she would go soft eventually. And I knew it. But I think I was still a good child. But, I also know that if she were to, for instance, take my tv, I could just wait a while (day or two), sneak into her room and just bring it back to my room. Same with videogame systems, etc. Length of punishment was never met, either because she gave it back or I just went and got it. Ha.aquaguy91My Mars is conjunct the i.c, it opposes the midheaven, I have had problems being assertive at work and I have had to learn it, almost like I have been forced to, because I put up with so much BS and I finally have to say enough is enough.SorchaI am about to experience Saturn conjunct my MC for one year during my Solar Return. In my case it's going to sextile my Ascendant (though I've got mars in the 9th which will be squaring it. Bah.) So once June rolls around I'll be better able to comment on this. I'm honestly curious since I have no planets even close to it in my natal and I've noticed you posting about it recently. In my natal, Saturn is on my IC which means it's going into foreign territory this year. I will definitely let you know how it turns out MessyLilLeoI also have Saturn conj Libra MC within a 4* orb 9H, and Pluto conj MC within a 3* orb 10H. I've been trying to figure out how this plays out in my life. The quick descriptions that I read say a lot about having problems with authority, and also striving to gain authority. I'm not really feelin it though. But this about lack of discipline is resonating. I had a single mother who worked the night shift, so non-school days had a lot of me time (school days I spent with my Aunts or Gramma). No live-in siblings until I was 11, so my pastime was wandering off into the forests by the river and getting lost, then finding my way back. I esp. liked to go out during storms. She expressed concern, but she was usually too tired to formally discipline me. I never got grounded. The only "discipline" I guess, was when she would get positively FED UP with me, send me to my room, and true to my Leo heart I always gave an excessively dramatic performance. I guess as I type this, I'm seeing it now. My Pluto would come out, if I wasn't getting a satisfactory reaction, I would slam doors and scream, and if that wasn't creating enough madness I would turn to physical violence. Ugh! She once told me "You've always tried to control me, ever since you were a baby!"But that would be the opposite, right? Expressed in my childhood, but now I've mellowed out. I get along very well with authority, life is soooo much easier when I play by the rules and get along. I don't have anything conjunct my Aries IC, but I do have a Taurus Moon in the 4th.My MC is sextile to my Sag asc. and is trining my desc. in Gem. AzakealHey!I have Neptune conjunct my MC, in Sagittarius!Neptune's my chart ruler (Pisces rising) but it doesn't square my Asc or Desc, as the orb is too wide (19d Sag with Asc-Desc axis on 7d).
